purpose of the wolf society
There are many reasons for the Wolf Society. The primary reason is because the ways of our ancestors are lost to us. Modern society has corrupted the old ways. Romanticized versions of Hollywood Indians have distorted the truth of our culture. People have lumped all of the indigenous cultures of the Americas into a generalized Indian culture.” Indians” don’t know what being native is about.
Our native culture is lost. We believe that the Creator has shown us the path of the Wolf for the sole purpose of bringing people back to the wolf’s teachings. Following these early teachings and learning to live by the seven wolf society laws, brings people back to the original ways of respect and honor, Strong family values, a sense of loyalty, duty and cooperation and a strong willingness to defend this way of life. (see the 7 Laws tab for description of the laws)
Without this knowledge there is no way to approach our old society people or to live in harmony with them. This has been a problem to the extent that the old societies are the “Indian” way. A way most will never know. We have been cut off from them and they will not accept us because they see that our modern people have no honor, our youth have no respect, our families are destroyed, there is no understanding that they have a duty to defend them even from themselves. The unwillingness to cooperate and putting themselves first have led up to this catastrophic reality.
We have been shown the way to bring us back to our people and the Creator. We must gain their acceptance and assistance or they will never consider us as their own. We will remain an outcast society.
We stand as an organization of Cherokees to promote the doctrine of the wolf. To learn from the wolf as we were instructed by the Creator and pass on that knowledge to the members of our society to secure the future of our people. We do this so that our people will not be lost to our future generations. We must protect our native future now! Our native culture is lost. Following these early teachings and learning to live by the seven wolf society laws, brings people back to the original ways of respect and honor, Strong family values, a sense of loyalty, duty and cooperation and a strong willingness to defend our way of life. We must reverse the damage caused by assimilation and restore our native culture now. Our beloved Wolf Society is a way of life we have chosen for ourselves, and our right as natives, so that we can continue to live in the old way and teach the ways of the wolf. Together with our cousins, we will help fulfill the prophecy of the ancients.
